This is not generic professional development. It is nationally recognised training connected to the responsibilities carried by particular people in education and care services.
Since 1 April 2025, Queensland’s government protocol requires approved providers to ensure that nominated supervisors, persons in day-to-day charge and family day care coordinators have completed an approved child protection course.
The requirement supports section 162A of the Education and Care Services National Law and is intended to strengthen the knowledge used to recognise, respond to and report concerns about children’s safety and wellbeing.
Services and learners should confirm which approved unit applies to their role and retain appropriate evidence of completion.
Queensland’s child protection training requirements apply to particular leadership and supervisory roles in education and care. Horizon2 can help you identify the appropriate nationally recognised unit for your role or service.

* CHCPRT001 and CHCPRT002 are superseded units, not the current units offered to new learners. They are shown because previous completion may remain relevant to the Queensland compliance pathway. Horizon2’s delivery is designed to help individuals and services complete required training while continuing to manage work, family and day-to-day service responsibilities.
