A Brief Description

CHCSS00133 – Induction to Disability Support represents A set of skills for supporting the induction of new workers into a variety of roles supporting people with disability.

This skill set is for individuals who are entering the disability sector.

Skill Set Overview

Horizon2 is a specialist training provider with a training team of experienced community service professionals. Through this team of industry professionals you have the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised Skill Set — CHCSS00133 – Induction to Disability Support. Successful candidates will need to complete 5 units of competency.

CHCCCS031 – Provide individualised support
CHCCCS038 – Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIS020 – Work effectively in disability support
HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will be asked to complete 5 subjects via online learning. You may also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if you believe you already have the knowledge and skills relevant to a particular unit or units. An RPL application must be submitted at the time of enrolment and the onus is on the student to provide sufficient, current, valid and authentic evidence against each of the units. Where there are gaps in your evidence, a professional conversation with your assessor may provide additional evidence. Your assessor may also ask you to provide further evidence to substantiate your claim of competency in a particular unit/s.

Where gaps in evidence remain – that is that you cannot be considered competent on the evidence provided, gap training will be made available to you. For gap training, you will be provided with workbooks and given assessments to complete. It is possible that gap training might include practical assessments.

HOW LONG WILL THE SKILL SET TAKE?

This is a self-paced program so the time to complete depends on the rate of submission. It is anticipated the process will take up to 6 months and is mostly dependent on you completing the assessment so that your assessor can review it. We will move at your pace and support you to set achievable goals

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no mandated entry requirements for the program.

VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT

This qualification does not involve a mandatory Vocational Placement. However, the units in this qualification may require additional work-based assessments. we strongly endorse and encourage you to take on volunteer work while studying This allows you to gain practical industry and workplace experience where you will be taught how to apply the lessons you learned during your training

PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONS

We understand that times can be tough, so we offer payment plans that can be negotiated with you via Pay Advantage or you can use HUMM EZIPAY. Applicants of a Pay Advantage payment plan will only receive certification when program payment is made in full.

Queensland (QLD) Funding:
Eligible applicants may apply to study this Skill Set under Queensland Skills Assure funding. To be eligible for the special pricing associated with this funding, students must meet the eligibility criteria.
